Tabitha's date

Classes seemed to go by really fast and before I knew it I was walking back to my dorm.  I could hardly believe that in a few hours I was going to be going on my first date ever.  I then start wondering what I am going to wear.  I go up the stairs and get into my room.  I head straight to my closet to see what I could possibly have to go on a date in.  After trying on about fifty different outfits I finally settle on a knee length sleeveless dress and black sandals.  I go to the mirror and put on some makeup to accent some of my features but not too much to overdo it like some girls do.  I am checking myself in the mirror one last time when I hear a knock at my door.  I walk over to the door and open it to see Brad standing there in a blue polo shirt and black pants.
“Hi,” he says smiling at he looks me up and down.  “Wow, you look great.”
I let out a small giggle. “Thanks, Hopefully I don’t look over dressed for where we are going.”
“No, you look amazing,” Brad says and then puts his arm out to me.  “Shall we get going?”
“Absolutely,” I say sliding my arm into his as we head out the door.

We leave the dorm and go to Brad’s car. Brad opens the passenger door and I get into the car.  Brad shuts my door, runs around the car, gets in the driver side, and starts the engine.  He pulls the car from the curb and we are off to the coffee shop he told me about.

Samantha sorority girl

I wake up to the sound of my alarm going off.  I grumble and roll over to turn it off.  I thought going to college I wouldn’t have to wake up early anymore.  I get out of bed and head into the bathroom to get ready for my day of classes and maybe talk to Crystal about maybe joining Chi Omega.  I talked to my mom about it last night when I got back to my apartment.  She seemed really excited that I was considering about joining at sorority.  I leave the bathroom and go to the closet to choose my outfit for the day.
Dressed and ready for the day I go to the kitchen and put a bagel into the toaster.  I get the orange juice out of the fridge and go over my schedule for the day through my head.  I have only two classes today but along with talking to Crystal I want to see if I can find a job nearby.  Even though my parents are paying for everything I want to get some work experience in while I’m here.  I hope that I can find a job that won’t give me too many hours because I know how important studying is.  I know there is a coffee shop near the campus and not that far away from my apartment either.  I hear the ding of the toaster telling me that my bagel is done.  I put the bagel on a plate grab the cream cheese off the counter and go sit at the kitchen table to eat breakfast.
I walk out of the apartment building and get into my car and head to the campus for class.  I finish class and head to the Chi Omega house to talk to Crystal.  The house is what used to be a mansion that was built by one of the founders and then was given to the school to be a dorm. I ring the doorbell and wait for one of the girls to let me in.  One of the girls opens the door and looks me up and down.
“Can I help you?” She asks crossing her arms across her chest.
“Yes, I was wondering if the recruiting officer Crystal was in,” I say smiling.
“She sure is.  Come on in and I’ll get her for you,” The girl says stepping back from the doorway to let me in.
I walk in and am amazed at how big the entryway is.  The girl shuts the door behind us and then steps in front of me.
“Follow me please,” The girl says as she starts walking down the hallway.
“You can wait in here while I get Crystal for you,” the girl says pointing into what looks like the living room with chairs and couches in it.
I walk over to one of the couches in the middle of the room and sit down to wait for Crystal.  I didn’t have to wait long before Crystal walked into the room.  She walked over to the couch and sat down next to me.
“Hey, I wasn’t expecting to see you here,” Crystal said.
“I know but I gave a lot of thought about joining and I want to be part of Chi Omega.  I was wondering what I would have to do to join,” I said smiling at her.
“Really? That’s great.  I’ll get a packet for you then,” Crystal says and then she jumps up from the couch and scurries off to get one of the packets for me.
When she returns, she hands me one of the packets and I put it in my bag for safe keeping.
“Do you know there is another girl on campus that looks exactly like you,” Crystal says.
I looked at her as if Crystal had grown a third head.
                “Really?” I ask.
“Yeah I thought she was you.  You don’t happen to have a twin that might be interested in joining do you?” Crystal asks as if I knew who this girl was.
“Not to my knowledge.  But I was adopted so I wouldn’t rule it out,” I say.
“Oh well then if I see her again I’ll let her know about you and see if I can get her name for you,” Crystal says.
“That would be great thanks,” I say smiling.  “I guess I better get going now I have studying and stuff to do.”
“Oh, what are you going to be doing?” asks Crystal.
“I’m going to see if I can get a job near where I live,” I say.
“That’s cool.  Where are you thinking of applying?” Crystal asks.
“There is a coffee shop a coupe blocks away from where I live so I’m thinking of applying there,” I say.
“Oh I know the one that named Heavenly Coffee right?” She says getting excited.  “I know the owner so put me down as a reference and I will make sure you get the job.”
“Thank you.  I appreciate it,” I say standing up and getting ready to leave.
Crystal get up also and walks me to the door.  We say good bye and Crystal advises me of the due date to have the packet done by.  I get into my car and leave to get home.

When I get home I change out of the clothes I was wearing and into clothes that I think would look great for an interview.  Happy with my appearance; I head out of my apartment and start walking to the coffee shop.  Once at the coffee shop I ask one of the servers if the manager is in.  She advises me that he is and has me sit at the counter to fill out an application as she walks off and gets him.  About five minutes later the manager is standing in front of me.

Tabitha goes to the cafeteria

I finish my last class for the day and it is about 4P.M.  I head to the cafeteria for some much needed food.  I pass all the tables for the frats and sororities but they look like that they give me a weird look for some reason.  I see one of the girls heading my way with also the same confused look on her face.
“So have you decided if you are going to join a sorority or not? Plus what is up with the wardrobe change I thought the outfit you were wearing earlier was cuter,” She says with a hopeful and yet confused look in her eyes.
“I’m sorry, I don’t think I have met you.  I didn’t change this is what I’ve been wearing all day and I just got out of classes,” I say probably giving and equally confused look on my face.
“Are you sure because I swear I was talking to a girl that looks almost exactly like you,” She says looking me over to see if I was the person she was talking to earlier.
“No I’m sure I would remember if I talked to and what I was wearing this morning,” I say trying not to sound mean to her.
“Okay, well if you are ever want to join a sorority think about us,” She says handing me some papers with information on them.
“Yeah, thanks, I’ll seriously think about it,” I said smiling.
I continue my journey to the cafeteria for much needed nourishment.  I go through the line and get a burger, cooked medium rare with pickles, mustard, and ketchup.  I walk out and look around the eating area for a place to eat.  I see a place to near the front doors to the cafeteria.  I go to the table, sit down, and start to eat my burger when I feel someone tapping me on my shoulder.  I turn to see that it is Brad from when I moved into my dorm room.
                        “Hey,” he says.
“Hey,” I say back not really sure what to say.
“So how was your first day of classes?” He asks sitting in the chair next to me. “I’m sure it was a bit overwhelming, right.  I know it was for me when I was a first year here.”
“Not really.  I’m used to heavy course loads so this will be a piece of cake,” I say dipping one of my fries into a puddle of ketchup on my plate.
“Well, you seem to be doing better than I did,” Brad says with a chuckle.  “I saw one of the sorority girls talking to you.  Are you planning on going for one of the houses?”
“I don’t know yet.  She actually thought I was some girl that she was talking to earlier today,” I said feeling a tinge of worry hitting me.  What if my twin is also at this college too?  Will I be able to do what I have been trained to do if we come in contact with each other?  I will just have to be extra careful and try not to come in contact with her.
“That’s weird.  You might have a doppelganger on campus,” Brad says with a laugh.
“Yeah you might be right,” I said laughing too.  But still I worry if she is really here or not.
We talk and laugh for a couple more hours and then we realized that the cafeteria was closing down for the evening.  So we gathered our belongings and walked out the front door to the courtyard.
We are walking across the courtyard when we hear a female voice calling Brad’s name.
“Brad, there you are I’ve been looking all over campus for you,” a young red head comes running up to us.
“Great,” says Brad and the look on his face showed that he wasn’t too pleased to see this person.
We stop walking to so the girl can finish catching up to us.  She finally gets up to us, although slightly out of breath.  She immediately links arms with Brad and Brad pulls his arm out from her grip.  I see a flash of sadness and then anger go across the girl’s face.  I try not to wonder about peoples relationships because it just causes too much drama and it is not worth the time to me.
“What do you want Chrissie?” Brad asks with a look of annoyance on his face.
“I just thought you would want to hang out tonight is all,” Chrissie says pouting and then she notices me.  The look on her face tells me that she not happy to see me with Brad.  “Who is she?  Your new girlfriend or something?”
“No, this is Tabitha.  I helped move her move into her dorm room yesterday,” Brad says trying hard to be polite.
“Oh, well do you want to hang out tonight?  I bought a movie that I think you will like and we can watch it together,” Chrissie says completely ignoring the fact that I am still standing right there.  I wonder if I should just leave and let them have some alone time.
“Well, I guess I’ll get going back to my dorm now and let you two talk,” I say and turn to start walking away.
“Wait, I’ll walk you back since this is your first time walking back on this campus and students do have a tendency of getting lost a lot on this campus,” Brad says.  “Sorry Chrissie not tonight I’ll see what my schedule looks like for the rest of the week and get back to you.”
“You know I could probably find my way back without your help if you really needed to talk to her,” I say as we are walking back to the dormitory.
“Yeah, I know but I really didn’t want to talk to her.  She sort of is stalking me because I’m part of a fraternity that is sort of have a unwritten law of seeing girls in her sorority but I’m not interested in any of them,” Brad says with a frown on his face.
“Oh, so have you only dated girls from that sorority?” I ask not really knowing why I was asking the question.
“I haven’t dated anyone since I started here actually,” Brad says.
We walk along in silence not really knowing now what to talk about.  I couldn’t believe that I asked a dating question.  I was raised that getting into a relationship would hinder me on .
“Yeah and probably tired too.  I guess I should get going to bed,” I said and then starting walking up the steps to the dormitory.
“Hey, if you don’t have any plans tomorrow night, do you want to go hang out?  I know a 24 hour coffee shop that is not far from campus,” Brad says looking a little nervous.
“Sure that sounds nice.  My last class ends at six so let’s meet up at seven,” I said with a smile.
“Sounds awesome, I’ll meet you here at seven then,” Brad says with a big grin on his face and with a wave walks off.

I walk up to my dorm room and lean against the door with a sigh.  I couldn’t believe that I have been here for one day and I already had a date tomorrow.  Then a thought crossed my mind of what am I going to wear?

Samantha survives the first day of class

I sigh as I step out of my final class for the day, which was a biology class, and realize that I am starving.  So I start heading toward the cafeteria for lunch.  On my way there I notice that the fraternities and sororities have tables set up in the courtyard in front of the cafeteria trying to recruit people into their houses.  As I’m walking by the tables one of the sorority girls sees me and walks up to me.
“Excuse me, but have you thought of joining a sorority?” She says looking me once over.
“Not that much but my mom was a part of one and told me how much fun it was and that it was like having another family so you are never home sick,” I said smiling.
“Cool what sorority was your mom apart of?” She asks.
“She was part of Alpha Omicron pi,” I said.
“Wow,” she said clearly impressed.  “Well unfortunately we don’t have a chapter of that sorority here but if you are interested you can try out for Chi Omega.  My name is Crystal and I’m in charge of new recruits so if you are interested just let me know.”
Crystal hands me some flyer and pamphlets with information on them.  She also hands me a card with her name, phone number, and school email to get in touch with her.  No sooner had she left than other sororities upon hearing the sorority my mother was from swarmed me with their paraphernalia too.  I’m used to being popular but not this popular.  I finally make it to the front doors and go in.
I go through the line and choose my food.  I walk out to the main eating area and search for a table to sit at.  I find an empty table in the back corner by the window that has a great view of the lake that is behind the cafeteria.
“Is this seat taken?” Says a voice next to me.
I turn around and see a girl about my age with a tray of food in her hands.
“No, you can sit there,” I say smiling at her.
“Thank you.  It’s hard trying to find a seat right now.  My name is Tina by the way,” She says putting her tray down and sitting in the chair next to me.
“I’m Samantha but you can call me Sammie if you want,” I say taking a bite of the chicken salad I got.
“Okay.  So how are you enjoying your first day?” Tina asks and then bits into her tuna salad sandwich.
“It’s going good.  Never realized how big the campus was and that there would be a lot more homework than what it was in high school,” I say with a laugh.
“I know right?” Tina says smiling at me.  She then notices all the sororities’ flyers and pamphlets on the table on my books. “Wow!  Do all of those sororities want you?”
“Yeah, they sort of found out the sorority that my mother was a part of and they all of the sudden want me to be a part of their houses,” I said looking through some of the papers.
“That’s cool.  You going to try out for any of the houses?” Tina asks before taking another bite of her sandwich.
“I’m thinking about it.  I just don’t know which one though,” I say with a sigh.
I put the papers in a folder and put the folder in my bag so I won’t have to look at it anymore.  Tina and I sit for about an hour after that just talking about classes and what our majors are.  I found out that Tina is a Political Science major and wants to work in politics and maybe run for an office one day.  I thought that was really cool.  I told her I wanted to be an author but was willing to start off as a journalist and maybe write books on the side until I become better known.  She thought that was pretty cool too.
“Well sorry to run like this but I have to get to my afternoon classes.  Your lucky that you got all morning classes today, so you can go and explore more of the campus now and check out some of the cute guys here,” Tina says winking at me.
                I laugh and smile back.
“That is exactly what I’ll do,” I say picking up my bag and walk with her out the front door and into the courtyard where we part.

I head toward the library to check out how big it is and what the book selection looks like and maybe ask where local public library is in case I need to go there for more research material.

Tabitha goes to class

I am walking from the dorm to the main campus to start class.  I look forward to my Intro into the Occult class.  I personally know the professor but have been told by Sister Anna that if I act like I know him the ones that want the end of the world will find out and try to kill me.  I fell like I’m going to do really well in this class because most of the material he is teaching I have been taught most of my life.
I walk into the classroom and found a seat in the back row.  I watch the other student file into the room and take a seat somewhere in the room.  All the students seem happy and excited to be starting the new term.  I hear most of the guys and some of the girls talking about some of the fraternity and sorority parties that are going to be coming up soon.  I also hear some of them talking about pledge week and what houses they are going for.  I smile to myself and then think to myself and wonder if this is what normal people my age think about.  They don’t have to worry about saving the world when the time comes.
After waiting about five minutes, we hear one of the doors up at the front open and our instructor walks into the room.  He puts an old brown satchel on the table at the front of the room.  He opens up the satchel and pulls out a few items.  Then he turns around and looks around the room at everyone.
“My name is Father Tony and I am assuming that all of you here are wanting to do something either with the occult or something with the paranormal world,” Father Tony says looking around.  “I also know that people say that this is a class that only weird people take or that this is a field that anyone can get into.  But I tell you now that I have seen things that cannot be explained and done things to save peoples lives or make their lives better.”
He goes on about what we are going to be covering throughout the semester.  I see him looking at me once in awhile and I know he recognizes me but I don’t do or say anything to show that.

After class I walked out realizing tow things: 1. I didn’t realize how hard a job working in the paranormal was going to be and 2. That there is going to be a lot of reading for this major.

Samantha goes to class

I pull into a parking spot in front of Lucille Hall for my first class of the semester.  I sit in my car for a couple minutes to check my makeup and make sure my outfit looks fantastic.  I finish applying a fresh coat of lip gloss and get out of the car.  I go to the trunk and pull my bag with my books for the day in it.  I then start up the stairs to the hall for class.
I walk into my Introduction to Creative Writing class and take a seat in the middle of the room.   I watch as some of my fellow classmates start shuffling in and take their seats as well.
About ten minutes of this the professor walks into the room and takes his place at the table and podium and the front of the room.
“Hello everyone.  I’m Professor Wallace and I would like to welcome you to Introduction to Creative Writing. I assume most of you are dreaming of becoming famous journalists or maybe write the next best seller but it all begins in this class,” Professor Wallace says looking around the room at all of us.  “Without further ado please open your textbooks to the first chapter about planning what you are going to write.”

Professor Wallace then turns to the whiteboard behind him and starts writing an outline of what we are going to be learning that day.

Tabitha finishes moving into her dorm

I find Michelangelo Hall with no problem and as I am getting out of my car I look up at the building that I will be calling home for my first year at college.  It almost looks like an old Victorian mansion but way bigger.  There is a statue of the angel Michael near the front door of the building.  I walk into the main common area of the building, which is bustling with RA's and new students.  I have never seen so many people congregating in one area before.  I must have had a lost look on my face because a bubbly blonde girl comes up to me.
“Hi, my name is Ally.  I’m one of the RA’s for this building.  Do you have a room assignment here?” She says with a smile on her face.
“Yes, I was told that I was assigned room 313 for this school term,” I said smiling back at her.  I sense that she is a nice and innocent girl with only the best intentions at heart.
“That is awesome because I’m going to be the RA on that floor,” Ally says almost jumping up and down where she was standing in front of me.
“That is pretty awesome,” I say trying not to sound irritated by her overly cheerful nature.
“Do you need help getting your belongings up to your room?” She asks me.
“Yes, that would be nice,” I say.
“Okay, let me get one of our strong male RA’s to help you.  I think Brad is available to help you.  Hey Brad! You mind helping this girl get her belongings up to her room?” Alley yells across the room.
A young man with blonde hair and the most piercing blue eyes that I have ever seen turns around at the sound of his name.  He looks from Ally to me and a smile crosses his lips.
“Sure, I always enjoy helping the new residents get settled into their new living space,” Brad says walking up to us.
We walk outside and go straight to my car.  Brad lets out a low whistle when he sees the vehicle that I am driving.
“Nice ride.  You must come from a very rich family,” he says running his hand over the hood of the car.
“No, I was raised in a monastery with monks and nuns.  I had to save up and work hard to get this bad boy,” I said walking to the trunk and unlocking it.
“Nice.  I like a woman who works hard for everything she wants,” Brad says giving me a wink while pulling one of my bags out of the trunk.
I reached in and grabbed another bag out.  We pull out the four bags that I brought with me; go inside the hall, and head up the stairs to the third floor.  We get to room 313 and stop so I can get the key out and unlock the door.  The room was a little smaller than the room I had at the monastery but it doesn’t bother me.
“Well, I guess that’s everything.  I guess I will see you around campus,” Brad says as he waves and leaves my room.

I sigh and then start to unpack everything that I brought with me.

Samantha moves into her apartment

I pull up to the apartment complex where I will be living for my whole college career.  I told my parents that I wanted to live on campus but they insisted on getting me an apartment to live in.  They said too many negative things could happen to me on campus and would feel better if I lived in a more secure building.  Which I have no problem with because it means I can decorate this apartment whatever way I wanted and no one could tell me I couldn't.
“Wow.  This was not what I was expecting when you said you found me a nice apartment close to campus,” I said looking at what looks like a new apartment complex in front of me.
“Yes actually this complex was built about a year ago and has the best security system in the area,” My father says as he opens the trunk of the suv that mom and him rode in.
“Yeah, but don't you think this might be a little much?  I mean I'm not one of those stupid college girls that you see in those horror movies.  I did take all those years of mixed martial arts classes for a reason right,” I say pulling a suitcase out of the trunk of my car.
“I know, but give me this piece of mind while you are going to school here.  I just want the assurance that I know that you are safe,” He says leading the way into the complex.
We walk in and there is a huge lobby area.  The floors are made out of marble that is polished to a shine and there are columns like the ones you might see in a Coliseum in Rome. There are also high glass windows that reach all the way to the ceiling.  We walked up to the desk in the middle of the lobby and my father puts down the box to talk to the man behind the desk.
“Can I help you sir?” asked the man behind the desk.
“Yes, I'm here to move my daughter into her apartment.  It's under the name Samantha Connerton,” says my father smiling at the man,
“Yes, we have been expecting you,” said the deskman.  “Let me just go into the office and get the keys to the apartment for you.”
The deskman who turns out to be a portly man waddles his way to a side office to the right of the desk to get the keys.  We wait about ten minutes before he returns with the keys and a camera.
“Here are the keys to the apartment and if you could just stand right over her young lady so I can take a quick picture,” the desk man says pointing to one of the columns for me to stand in front of it.
“Okay.  Why do you need to take my picture?” I say after the picture is taken.
“Oh it's for your ID card so you can get into the building and if you loose your ID there is a book under the desk for the security officer to look in to show that you live here.  Security and safety is a high priority here,” the deskman said.  “I will have your ID ready by the time you finish getting yourself settled in your apartment.”
“Oh? Okay,” I said getting back to the desk and picking my suitcase back up again.
The deskman plugs the camera into the computer and then takes the keys off the desk.  He smiles as he hands them to me.
“There you go and you are in apartment 303,” he says and then turns to the computer and starts typing really fast.

My parents and I turn to the left to head to the bank of elevators to head up to my apartment.  I have butterflies in my stomach because this is starting a new chapter in my life.

Tabitha moves into dorm

The next morning.....

I drive under the archway of the University of Avalon and up the driveway to the admission office to get my room assignment.  I park in front of this massive building that almost looks like one of the cathedrals that I stayed in during my youth but this one doesn't have that old feel to it though.   I walk in through the big double doors and follow the signs to the desk area where the room assignments are given.  I wait in line along with everyone else.  I finally get to the front of the line and smile at the lady behind the desk.  She seems like a nice lady because she greets every one of us with a smile on her face.  She doesn't seem annoyed with doing this whatsoever.
“Hi, how can I help you?” She says with a smile on her face.
“Hi, I'm just here to get my room assignment,” I said smiling back at her.
“Yes of course,” She says.  “What is your name?”
                        “Tabitha Cerberus,” I say.
“That's an interesting last name,” She says looking down the list she has in front of her. “Ah here you are.  You are going to be living in Michelangelo Hall room 313.”
                        “Cool,” I said.
“Well I'm Beth Chanthum the Student Life Director on campus.  If you have any issues with anything you can talk to me or one of the Resident Assistants on your floor,” Beth says handing me a paper to sign.
“Okay. Hopefully I won't have any,” I said signing the paper and handing it back to her.
“I hope that the only time I talk to you it will be nothing but positive things,” Beth says handing me the key to my room.  “Also go to the next table down to get you picture taken for your ID.  Your ID is also your key fob to getting into the dorm building itself.  You just wave it in front of the keypad and it unlocks the main door to get into the dorm.”

“Okay, good to know,” I say putting the key on my key ring and then start heading to the ID table.

Intro to Samantha

I can hardly wait to leave this place.  It's not that I don't like where I live because I guess people would think I would be thanking God or someone that I lived in such a nice place.  Nothing against my adopted family or anything.  They are the nicest and kindest people you could ever meet.  I am thankful that out of the hundreds of babies they chose from that they chose me.  I just felt that I never fit in with this family.  That something is missing in my life.
I mean I got whatever I wanted.  If I wanted a new wardrobe, they gave me a credit card and said have at it.  If I wanted a new car, they would take me to a car lot and say choose the one you want.  I guess you could call me a little spoiled but the funny thing is I never liked being spoiled.
“I can't believe my baby girl is all grown up and going off to college,” my mom says sniffling and trying to hold back her tears.
“Oh mom stop that or your going to make me start crying again.  Plus I'm not leaving until tomorrow anyway.”
“I know but it feels like yesterday we were bringing you home and now you are leaving us,” mom says and then starts crying again.
“I know Mom,” I said walking around the bed and giving her a hug.
“I should get down stairs and start making dinner.  I'm going to make your favorite shrimp Alfredo with a Caesar salad and homemade apple pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert,” Mom says as she is walking out of my room.
“That sounds absolutely fantastic Mom,” I said smiling at her.
My mom walks out of the room and I turn back to my bed and look at all the stuff spread out on it that needs to be packed.  I never realized how much stuff I had until this very moment.  I've come to the conclusion that I might not be able to take everything that I wanted to take with me and that I might have to leave some of my things behind as much as I don't want to.

“I guess it's time to do some serious deciding now,” I say with a sigh and start going through everything again.

Intro to Tabitha

I have been raised in this temple all of my life.  I was told that I was the one sent from heaven to protect this world.  I also know that I wasn't the only one.  I know that I have a twin sister that if I ever come in contact with, she will be the one who will destroy the world.  That is why at birth we had to be separated.  My sister doesn't know anything about me, but they had to tell me in case I ever came across my sister and that if she should change to destroy the world. I would have no choice but to stop her.
My name is Tabitha and I was sent from heaven.  I am an angel and a protector.  When we were born, we were immediately separated from each other.  They said that the moment we came into the world that there were signs that if we stayed together the world would either end or be saved.  They couldn't let that happen.  The Guardians as they call themselves convinced our parents to get rid of us.  My sister went to an orphanage and I went to The Guardians Temple to live.  I sometimes wonder what happened to my sister but I know that trying to go out and find her would be the end of everyone and everything.
I'm in my room getting ready to leave for college.  Even though The Guardians don't want me to go, but I think it is the best thing.
“I wish you weren't leaving us, “says Sister Anna as she is helping me pack the rest of my things.
“I know, but I think that this will be good for me.  I have to know that there is more to my life than just what I know from being here,” I say smiling at the old nun that pretty much raised me.
Sister Anna was the nun that took charge of me when I came here as an infant.  She sort of was a mother to me.  She was there when I spoke my first word, and took my first step.  Heck she's the one who taught me how to drive.  She has always been there for me and protected me.  Now I don't know what is going to happen when I leave this place and discover who I can be for the rest of my life.
“But what happens if you run into her,” Sister Anna asks concerned tone in her voice.
“I'll be fine.  What are the odds that I will run into my twin sister? I don't even know what she looks like,” I said laughing.
“You never know,” she said folding the last of my clothes.
I just look over at her and smile at her.
“Don't worry.  I'll be fine,” I said giving her a hug.
“Hard to believe that tomorrow you will be leaving us tomorrow,” Sister Anna says wiping a tear from her eyes.
“Don't cry.  I'll be back before you know it,” I said giving her another hug.
“I know, still hard to believe that you are grown up now,” she says heading to the door to my room. “Dinner will be ready in an hour.  I'll make you favorite tonight.”
“Your homemade Stromboli and sauce?” I asked excitedly.
“Yes with homemade peach cobbler for dessert,” she says smiling.

“YES,” I say doing a little dance around the room while Sister Anna laughs.
